A New World Order
If you haven't read the new NSS document, you're probably an American - because the rest of the world is paying attention.
The US has been a global leader (hegemon) promoting democracy (for the most part, when aligned with its interests) for decades.
Not anymore - the US is now subscribing to "spheres of influence", which is out of Russia's playbook.
Basically, in this national security strategy, the US claims that it deserves to control the entire western hemisphere, including Latin America, South America, Canada, and Greenland. Not in direct colonialism, but more like a feudal lord receiving homage from vassals.
It suggests that countries with the most might have the right to subjugate others, and that it plans to assume control over its hemisphere with force should other countries not comply.
It also tells Europe that it needs to get with the program. Europe can either man up and stop whining about things like human rights and dignity, or it can become a forgotten cultural relic full of museums.
Needless to say, this is like giving the finger to diplomacy and democracy, a la Yarvin.
The US is now openly stating that it will now operate like any other authoritarian great power, just with better marketing about "sovereignty" and "realism."
This is a sign that if you're in the Western hemisphere, and you would be identified as a dissident, opposition, or anything other than "sir yes sir" to this world order, you either need to make plans to leave, or accept the risks staying with open eyes.
